
These were taken at Elmira's famous Woodland Cemetery...where Mark Twain remains (literally). It may sound morbid to some but I find cemeteries fascinating. The history of so many lives simply stated on a tombstone: when were they born, when did they die. Nothing more, nothing less. So I guess that it really does not matter what we do, we all end in the same place...except for me because I want a "coral reef" burial.
But perhaps that sentiment is better expressed in the following pic.
Both pics where modified with photoshop to decrease their brightness since they were taken around 3pm (yes, the Christian significance did not escape me) and there were many shadows casted.
